I’ve seen quite a few projects using silhouettes of different states lately, and have been dying to have a pillow with the silhouette of Kentucky. Last week, I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Thistlewood Farm, and saw that Karianne had made the most fabulous canvases with the silhouette of Kentucky, and I could stand it no longer! I must have a Kentucky pillow, so I decided to make one. I totally stole her idea and called my friend with a Silhouette to ask if she could cut the shape of KY for me…and she did!
I took the center piece of vinyl out for another project, and stuck the large outline on a Dropcloth Pillow that I had already made. I used my stencil brush and dabbed on black paint inside of the outline. Then I decided to add a little embellishment. I sewed a quick ruffle, made a ruffled flower and sewed them on the pillow. Now my Kentucky pillow has just the right amount of fluff for me.

I am so happy with my new pillow!
To be honest, I have had pillow fever lately…last week I made this little cutie for my daughter’s school carnival silent auction…
Have you made anything using your state’s silhouette?
