We have three birthdays coming up in this family, which means there is lots of celebrating to be done. Each time a birthday rolls around, I like to hang a Happy Birthday banner on the mantel for the day…the birthday boy/girl needs to feel special, right? I could make a new banner every.single.time, but that’s a ton of work. I mean, who wants to make a new banner for every single birthday? Not me! You can make a chalkboard birthday banner once and use it as many times as you like!
Make this one time, and you can use it for whatever holiday you like!
All you need are some wooden, cardboard, or cardstock pennant shaped pieces with holes on each side at the top (I bought these awesome wooden ones at Pick Your Plum on the cheap), chalkboard paint, some ribbon, and either chalk or a chalkboard pen.
You simply paint each pennant with 3 coats of chalkboard paint…let them cure over night. Next, string some ribbon or twine through them and write whatever you like. Then, erase it and write something else! You can use this banner for years and years, and for every occasion. I used a similar banner for my 4th of July party last year!
So, what do you think? Wanna make one for yourself?
