It's almost Thanksgiving, but to be honest, I'm kind of over all of the orange. I love pumpkins though, so I wanted a super simple centerpiece that still says Fall, but is pretty and sweet. I decided to paint one of my foam pumpkins and make this sweet Painted Faux Pumpkin Planter. Here is how I did it...
I had this pumpkin planter that I decorated along with some other fabulous pumpkins...you can find those HERE! I took the washi tape off, removed the faux sunflowers, and decided to paint it my favorite color...aqua!
First I painted it a with a thin coat of white to cover up all of the orange.
Next, I painted it with two coats of La Craie from Mason Blanche that I had left over. Once the paint had dried, I rubbed on some clear wax, then buffed it with a soft cloth.
I added a bunch of faux hydrangeas and sat it in the middle of my table, and couldn't be happier! It's simple, understated and just perfect!
