The easiest way to make slow cooker shredded chicken!
A few years ago, I shared my favorite go to method for cooking shredded chicken. Most of you hadn't discovered this little blog then, and the photos were horrible, so I decided it was time to update that post and reshare! This is the easiest and tastiest way to make shredded chicken which can be used to make so many recipes like chicken salad, chicken tacos, white chicken chili, chicken enchiladas, chicken fried rice, casseroles and so much more! I make a ton at one time, shred it and freeze it in separate bags so I can just thaw and use whenever I like. It's so delicious that it can be eaten on it's own...in fact, my friend Becky feeds it to her boys right out of the crock pot! Slow cooker shredded chicken will become your go to way to make chicken, I guarantee it!
You start by adding up to 10 chicken breasts or tenders to your crock pot. Cover them with water and add 1 Tablespoon of chicken bouillion granules, then sprinkle salt and pepper over the top.
Set your crock pot or slow cooker to high and allow them to cook for 6 hours.
Once the 6 hours is up, remove the chicken and place in a bowl.
Use two forks to shred the chicken. It will literally just pull apart!
Doesn't it look delish? Now, you can use it for your favorite recipe or you can freeze for later use!
You can check out my Crock Pot White Chicken Chili that I make using shredded chicken.
I also use it for my delicious Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad!
Happy Shredding!
