DIY Painted Snowman Family Christmas Ornament

I shared this sweet little Snowman Family Ornament on a friend's blog a couple of years ago, and forgot to share it over here. After stumbling upon this photo today, I thougth I'd share how simple it is to make this cute ornament. These are so simple to make and you can customize the "snow family" to reflect your family!

First, you need a glass or plastic round ornament. I like to make my own Glitter In Glass Ornaments (tutorial HERE). They are super easy to make and they don't leave a glittery trail all over your house at Christmas time. Plus, they are less expensive than store bought and you can make them in whatever color you choose!

Next, take a paint brush and some white acrylic paint and paint on your snowmen or women. No need for perfection here...snowmen aren't meant to be perfect! You could even have your kiddos use their fingers to make fingerprint snowmen. Let them dry before moving to the next step.

Now use a small tipped paint brush to dot on the eyes and mouth. You can add buttons down the front too if you like.

Using a similar sized brush, paint on carrot noses, then hats and scarves or bows for the girls. Aren't they just the cutest? I love handmade ornaments, and so do my kids. We make as many of them as we can ourselves.
