    A Homemade Christmas Tour

    by Jessica 25 Comments

I'm Dreaming of a White ChristmasHappy Holidays, and welcome to my Homemade Christmas  Tour!  Things are starting to look all holly and jolly around here, so I thought I would share a few of the Christmas touches we have added in our home so far this year.  There are a couple of spaces that are under renovation (what's new, right?), so no entryway and just a smidgen of the kitchen ;)

Christmas Tree with Aqua and Silver TouchesKate and I decorated the Christmas tree with lots of aqua and silver this year.  I'm sure you can spy a little pop of red in there....it seems our Elf, Jenny wanted to get in on a little bit of the home tour action.  Kate is thoroughly embarrassed because Jenny is clearly kissing a penguin...oy!  Since we have a dog and cat, we opt for a galvanized bucket for our tree instead of a tree skirt...trust me, it saves a ton of cleaning for me!  I found the lovely wrapping paper this year at Marshall's for less than $3 a roll, and I think they work perfectly with our theme this year!

Christmas Mantel 2013 at mom4real.comI wanted to keep our mantel a little more muted this year.  I left most of the touches from my Fall mantel and added some greenery, pinecones, paper snowflakes, and....

Deer on Christmas Mantela sweet little sweater deer.  When I saw this little guy, I knew he had to come live with us!  Isn't he cute?

Chalkboard Christmas Mantel with Deer and Natural TouchesI just love the simpleness of the mantel this year...especially since there is a totally different look in the kitchen/breakfast nook!

Be Merry ChalkboardI can show you very little of the kitchen area, but here is a sneak peek...I have been working on the backsplash, and cannot wait to tell you what I used, but for now, it's going to stay a secret...

Christmas in the Breakfast NookIn the breakfast nook, it is full on Christmas!

Glade Breakfast NookThis was actually the first space I worked on this year.  As you may be able to tell, it has changed a few times.  It seems that every time I wanted to add something, I ended up moving everything around.

White and Silver Santa SledI tried to make everything by hand for this room, and had a blast doing it.  One of the first things I made was this Santa's Sled...you can see the before and all kinds of fabulous Holiday goodness, HERE!

Christmas Tree with Silver DecorationsNext came the Silver Leafed Ornaments...so fun and easy...perfect for a small Christmas tree!

Super Easy Stacked Christmas Tree TopiariesThen the Stacked Christmas Tree Topiaries.  These were my absolute favorite to make, and they were sinfully easy!

Deer Silhouette Christmas TreeKate and I love making goodies and baubles for our home each season...

The Easiest Way to Make Bird Seed Pine Cones - Kid Friendly

This year, we even made something for the birds...

Thank you so much for joining me for a tour of my home this Christmas, and not judging my chalkboard obsession.

Now, on to the good part... I'm joining 29 other bloggers for their Christmas Home Tours as well.  Grab a cup of coffee or cocoa, and enjoy!2013-All-Things-Home-Christmas-Tour-467x650

Everything is so lovely, Jessica. I love all the aqua and you can never have too many chalkboards. (I noticed a few in Marty's house, too!)

I love all your handmade touches and that your daughter likes to craft with you. My son isn't such a willing crafter, or let's just say he likes to freestyle a bit too much with his crafting for my liking.

I can't wait to see your new kitchen backsplash. Is it aqua? Or a chalkboard?

      Jessica,

I love the aqua elements in your home - everything looks so pretty and fresh! I remember making those pinecone bird feeders with my kids when they were little - treasure these days - they grow up quick!

Love the decorations! Everything looks adorable and I'm loving the chalkboards. I only have one and not to sound stalkerish, but I was told that you painted it!! I used it and the matching basket as part of my hallway Christmas decor.
