Our grey and white living room just got a new accessory, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. After years of battling with a sectional that moved all over the place when you sat on it, and had constant pet stains, this mama was ready for a change. Our new, pet friendly, organic sofa is the sofa of my dreams and I am so excited to tell you all about it!

I’ve really wanted to make some changes in our living room and lighten things up. Our home is small…around 2000 square feet, and the layout of our living room is a bit strange with a large opening from the entryway and stairs, another large opening into our kitchen/dining area, and an opening to a hallway that leads to our master bedroom, a half bath and our laundry room. Finding the right sofa for our family has been a bit of a challenge, but we’ve finally found “the one.” The sofa we had before was a large sectional that I loved at first, but a few months after purchasing it, I was frustrated with how closed off our living room felt. The sectional also came in pieces, and would slide apart in different areas no matter what kind of items I used to keep it in place…this made napping and snuggling up while watching movies a little awkward sometimes. So, I set out to find the perfect sofa for our family, and this time I made a list of requirements.
I wanted the new sofa to be as long as the wall where our stairs were, which is pretty long…10 feet long to be exact. I also wanted a chaise on one side for snuggling up and reading or watching movies. I needed something super pet friendly since our dogs are with us at all times. I was also hoping for something natural and organic that would help keep my allergies from being so bad. That’s a pretty specific list, I know.
My list was pretty specific, and The Futon Shop was able to meet all of my needs with their amazing Daisy Sectional Sofa. The Daisy Sectional Sofa is completely customizable, which made it the perfect sofa for our family!
I started by choosing our base cushion and back cushion options. You can see all of the available cushion options for the Daisy Sectional Sofa HERE. For our sofa, I wanted three base cushions, plus the chaise cushion. I also wanted four back cushions. You can chose the size of the sofa you like and the number of cushions as well.
For the fabric, I chose to go with their 100% Brushed Cotton Fabric in Graphite (Grey) because our dogs will be on the sofa, and I wanted it to be extra tough. The fabric is nice and thick, and the best part…totally removable so I can wash them when they get dirty! You can see all of The Futon Shop’s Fabric Options HERE. They also offer linen fabrics, several color options and some beautiful patterns as well!
Here is a closer look at the sofa arms and cushions…isn’t she just beautiful?
Finally, I got to choose the kind of filling that I wanted in our sofa….have you ever even heard of such a thing? I was blown away by the option to chose organic fill for our sofa. Not only do I feel better about the fact that our sofa has organic wool filling, and no chemical laden stuffing, but it’s also great for people with allergies. Did I mention that I am the queen of allergies? It’s not necessarily a title that I’m proud of.
Our family is beyond thrilled with our new Daisy Sectional Sofa, and our living room feels so open now. We’ve spent the last month snuggled up with our dogs watching movies, playing games, enjoying football games and taking the occasional nap too! I couldn’t be more pleased with how comfortable and durable the cushions and fabric are too!
The Futon Shop offers so much more than futons…they offer organic mattresses, sofas, chairs, futons and so much more. All organic and handcrafted in the USA. You can read more about their amazing products and how they are made HERE on The Futon Shop website!
How did you know how I have been trying to find couches i like? Thank you for sharing!
So many styles and yes you get to choose what goes in it. And I think less money than the ones I have seen and do not care for. Great choice Jess.
Thank you, Jody! We are absolutely in love with it! Have a beautiful weekend!
Thanks for sharing. When I get my new floors I hope to get a new couch. I hadn’t even considered the fact that some have a “move around” problem.
Oh, yeah…it was a major issue for us. I tried all kinds of things to get it to stay together and it would separate so easily. This one has pieces that clamp it together…ours came in two pieces, the chaise and the couch. I bet you are super excited about your new floors too! Have a wonderful weekend!
Wow your home is beautiful! Looks magazine worthy. I love the fact that the couch material is a safe alternative. I had no idea that existed. Thank you
Thank you so much! I didn’t know the option existed either, but I’m so happy it does! xoxo, Jess
Hi! I’m looking at the same sofa and appreciate your review! What kind of cushions did you choose and how soft are they? Thanks!
I’m so interested in this couch but the reviews online for The Futon Shop are scathing on multiple sites. Makes me afraid. Did you have any customer service issues? There are also complaints of the wool smelling like sheep, the cotton smelling like hay, and the latex having an odor. I’ve been told those dissipate with time. Did you experience any unpleasant smells?
I didn’t have any issues with odor at all, but have had a little issue with the cushions flattening over time. As far as customer service goes, I worked directly with the owner, so I haven’t had any experience with them. Hope this helps!
Hi, which did you choose for the seat cushions? Soft (all wool), Medium (wool and latex), or Firm (wool, latex, and pocketed coils)? Are you still liking it? We’re thinking about buying this exact set in the same fabric, different color.
Thanks!
