This trick showing How To Clean Carpet Stains Quickly will remove most stains right in minutes with one simple ingredient! Bonus...it even works on red wine stains!
Carpet stains are the worst, but they don't have to be. This trick to remove stains is one that I've read about for quite some time, but didn't really believe. Boy, was I wrong! The first time I figured out that this trick worked was when a friend of mine called me to help her with a set in stain in her daughter's bedroom carpet. I did a little research and told her to try shaving cream first. I think she thought I had lost my mind, but a few minutes later, she called to tell me that it had gotten the stain out...I think we were both shocked. Fast forward to about a year later when I dropped a glass of red wine on my living room rug, and I needed to test this method out again. Here is how it went down...
You can check out my quick video showing just how well it works, or read the entire tutorial below.

This video will show you just how easy this method of cleaning red wine out of a carpet works!
How to Remove Red Wine from Carpet
Start by blotting as much as the liquid as possible up using paper towels or a cloth. Do not rub the stain, or you could make it spread more. Just blot it. If your stain is already dried and set in, simply skip this step.
Next, grab some inexpensive foaming shaving cream. Don't use the gel shaving cream for this.
Dispense shaving cream on the stain.
Then use your fingers to rub it into the stain.
Use a dish cloth to rub it around and absorb the stain.
Use another dish cloth to wipe away any excess shaving cream. No rinsing needed!
If for some reason this stain removal method didn't work for you, try using my Homemade Stain Remover...it's truly a miracle worker on clothes and I've used it for carpet stains several times....especially pet stains!
I hope these carpet cleaning ideas help you keep your carpets and rugs fresh and clean for years to come!

I was told baking soda will help with stains. I have been a carpet cleaner for 25 years and haven't tried a home recipe but love your mix.

I really couldn’t believe it! I decided to go to bed with a glass of red. Fell asleep, and in the morning spilled the wine on my carpet. Immediately covered with salt! 24 hours later used the shaving cream and WOW! Stain GONE! Incredible! Thank you!! And now I’ll only go to bed with a glass of Chardonnay
