Hey y’all! Welcome to the first Thrift Store Decor Makeover Challenge! I have joined 5 other super talented bloggers to bring you some fun thrifty ideas once each month…this is our first month, and I chose this fun Whiskey Barrel Table!
I’m a Kentucky girl, and in KY we are all about the Kentucky Wildcats, horses, bourbon and whiskey. It’s just a thing, like a given. If you live here, then you must love these things. I’m not a whiskey or bourbon drinker, but I do love a good whiskey barrel. I’ve used them as planters, but have always wanted a whiskey barrel table. Well, I finally have one, even though I’m using it more as a kitchen island. Hey…I like different things…normal is boring, right?
On a recent thrifting hunt, my husband and I found this whiskey barrel and I knew it had to come home with us. Thankfully, it wasn’t too hard to convince him…not that there was a choice really ;) I had recently seen one that had a marble top and I immediately knew after purchasing mine that I wanted something similar. Since I don’t yet have a marble table top and am not really sure where to find one, I improvised. I painted a piece of round wood white, then dry brushed it with some grey paint. For now, it will do.
I love it so much! I sat it right in the middle of my little kitchen. It’s nice to have a little place to do a little food prep…plus, it’s just cute!
Now…it’s time to make some guacamole! I am just so happy to have scored this awesome whiskey barrel!
