Usually I am an almost every day poster…I just love to share! I got an email yesterday from one of my fabulous readers, and she wanted to know where in the world I was…why was there no Tuesday post??? Well, I totally meant to post, but I am working soooo hard, because I have a super big surprise coming!!! Well, at least it’s big to me!
Okay…so you know how I love to paint things, right? Like my kitchen cabinets that I painted white, then the insides of my kitchen cabinets, and even my foyer floors? Well, I’m still working on a few paint projects right now, but I want to do more! I want to challenge myself, and I want to challenge you too!
I want to learn to use power tools! I want to open the world and my home to new possibilities, and I want the power…or power tools so to speak…to be in my hands!
I know what some of you are thinking…no way, not me! Pish posh! If I can do it, you can do it, and we are going to learn together!
Right now I am working on a little work bench in the garage so in a few weeks, we can get started!
There will be full tutorials, and videos too! It’s going to be laugh out loud funny and completely real. No hiding mistakes, and nothing too challenging. Just the basics to begin with.
I will honestly tell you, I’ve been thinking about it a ton, but after taking a class this weekend that the awesome superstar sisters from Shanty 2 Chic put on this weekend, nothing is going to stand in my way. They built a spice rack from start to finish, and I was floored at how unscary it really was! In the Ryobi booth, I got to try a brad nailer, and in the class, I used a miter saw. They weren’t scary at all!
They were EMPOWERING!
So, what do you say? Will you join me? Even if it is only to laugh at me and all of my 5 feet tallness brandishing power tools?
Here is a fun pic that was taken at the Ryobi dinner of myself and some of my fave blogging buddies looking completely silly :)
Hi Jessica, I’m up for your challenge! I want the awesome power of a tool in my hands! Looking forward to your videos!
I’m in!! I’ve used my circular saw once when I turned some old shutter bifold doors into a headboard for my daughter’s room–it was a little scary since I had NEVER used one before. But all I did really was cut through a line that I marked. I use the power drill often, but the rest of my power tools sit in the tool cupboard. I have to learn to use my reciprocating saw next month to remove old grout–and I’m scared. I think this will be a lot of fun! Can’t wait to get started!
I use my power tools as much as I can. You will love it!
You can totally do it! I took wood shop in HS and grew up around tools, once you try it… you’ll be a DIY Queen! And super hooked!
I would love to try it!
We look *amazing* with power tools:)
So happy to have met you and hung out at Haven, you are a blast!!!
Jessica
If I say no way will you sit on me and fart? Okay, then I’ll do it. Scary scary stuff! Me with a power tool….eeek!
I love this and I can’t wait to see the videos. I didn’t make it to the power tools sessions and my husband has all these power tools in the basement I am dying to use. I will be a dangerous women once I figure them out!
I love this idea! I’ve always felt I would be more satisfied with my life if I could use power tools haha! Looking forward to the videos!
I would love to learn! Usually I leave all of the power tool jobs for hubby, but I feel like we could get so much more accomplished if I could use them too! Thanks for the inspiration!
~Abby =)
Great minds think alike! ;-) However my husband is getting in on the action! He refuses to let me touch his power tools.
Jessica…you look so comfortable holding that power tool!….I am looking forward to seeing the videos…!!!
I’m 5 feet tall, too! And I’m on a mission to learn how to use power tools. I’m excited for you and the new series. It will be fun!
