Nothing says summer quite like firing up the grill and throwing on a nice, juicy steak! One of my favorite ways to enjoy steak is by cooking it kabob style (on a skewer) with fruits and vegetables. These pineapple bourbon marinated steak kabobs are so delicious and come off of the grill juicy and full of flavor...they are sure to become a family favorite meal for you summer cookouts!
What I love the most about making steak kabobs or skewers is that you get a nice, well-balanced meal that is full of flavor without much fuss. I have teamed up with my friends at The Beef Council to share my favorite way to grill steak kabobs! I like to get the whole family involved and let them choose their own mixtures of fruits and vegetables to add to their kabobs. I typically start with cubes of sirloin that have been marinated, and fresh vegetables and fruits like zucchini, summer squash, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, grape tomatoes, small potatoes pineapple, peaches, and mango. I like to marinate my steak when I make kabobs, because it gives them a punch of flavor and keeps the leaner cut of beef super moist, but it isn't necessary if you'd rather skip the marinade.
Since beef has been increasingly hard to come by during this time, my friends at The Beef Council have provided me with this super helpful chart that shows some simple steak swaps you can make if what you are looking for isn't available.
