Today is a good day in the Kielman house my friends! We are having a new refrigerator delivered, and this one is going to live in our garage. I am so excited to have the extra space to store frozen items and drinks too! Before we move the old fridge out, it's going to need a good cleaning, so I thought I would share my go to refrigerator cleaning trick with you...I use steam, which takes most of the work off of my shoulders and sanitizes too! No harsh chemicals needed here! I shared these photos and methods a couple of years ago, but since I am steaming our refrigerator again, I may as well share with you! Let me show you the many ways I use my steam cleaner to clean...
Not only do I use my steam cleaner for cleaning my refrigerator, I also use it for tile cleaning...I even use it to clean my bathtub, sinks and toilets! I use Homeright's steam cleaner which comes in two different versions. It has tons of attachments for different jobs, and I've had it for over 2 years now.

is a compact steamer that will change the way you clean. No more elbow grease, just let the steam do the cleaning! The beauty of this lovely contraption is that you don't have to use any cleaning supplies...the steam does the cleaning and sanitizing! You can also use it to remove wallpaper or clean your grill.
Now let's get to the embarrassing part...the filth. Cut me a break though, my kids have been home all Summer, which means there have been many microwave pizzas cooked in my microwave. Yep...that's the filthy inside of my microwave.
Let's take a look at how it works. I simply attached the small nylon brush to the end of my steam wand, let it heat up for a few minutes and lightly moved the wand back and forth on the inside of my microwave. You can't see the steam very well in the photo, but it is steaming off all of the burnt on pieces of food...yay!
And this is my microwave after...all clean, with no scrubbing!
Like I said, no judging! This is the lower front panel at the bottom of my refrigerator. Clearly it needs a good cleaning.
Can you see the difference already? The steam just knocks the dirt and grime right off!
That area where the water and ice are dispensed stays gross. It doesn't matter how many times I bleach it, within days, it's gross again, and that is a stain. I tried scrubbing it, and it wouldn't budge...stay tuned to see if that is still there...
That would be a negative! I steam cleaned the doors and handles too, so now my fridge is all sparkly clean!
I may as well give the inside of our dishwasher a good cleaning too.
All clean here!
If you have tile in your kitchen or bathrooms, you can simply steam clean them instead of mopping. No more scrubbing...the steam loosens all of the grime and the microfiber cloth wipes it away.
This is an old photo...taken before we had laminate installed, but I wanted to share any way just so you can see how easily the steam lifted that awful stuck on pizza sauce. I've steam cleaned the fridge and it's ready to move into the garage! By using a steam cleaner to clean, you can stop buying tons of chemical based cleaners, and cut your cleaning time in half!
Do not use steam to clean hard wood or laminate floors!
