I am going to start something new here. I like to share tips and tricks that make our lives a little easier, but some of those tips seam a little to simple to share...or so I thought. Sometimes I get a question about and issue or problem that one of my readers is having and I think...well, no need to write an entire post to answer the question, I'll just answer them in an email. Then a friend and I had a conversation about whether it was really necessary to share simple things, and the answer we came up with was, YES!
Why not share the simple tips and tricks that we know with one another? And...if it's super simple and easy, even better!
So, I am going to be sharing a simple Tip of the Day every weekday from here on out in addition to my other posts. I'll be sharing the more complicated, tutorial based, pretty stuff in posts too, but you'll be getting the bonus of a simple tip or trick that you can pin for later, bookmark, or even just write down somewhere! Sound good?
I am also going to be adding a forum! What's a forum you ask? It's a place where you can ask questions and have them answered directly from me or other readers/members of the Mom 4 Real forum! You can also share your tips, fun crafts you have seen or decorating and DIY ideas...recipes too! There will be different categories so it won't all be mushed together. I want Mom 4 Real to be a community, which means I want you to feel like this is a place for you to not only gain information, but a place where we can discuss, ask questions and share! Beginning on July1st, the forum will be open...feel free to register as a member now if you like...the registration area is on the right hand sidebar! I can't wait to get this started!
Okay...so on to today's tip of the day...
Have you ever accidentally left the paint brush pr paint brushes you were using out, only to find it all dried up and ruined? Oh, I have ruined many paint brushes...or so I thought! Don't throw it out just yet! To clean a paint brush with dried paint or any dirty paint brush for that matter, simply add two tablespoons of fabric softener to one cup of warm water and let soak overnight! It will soften the paint, and rinse off easily!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this tip!! I have thrown away countless paint brushes because of dried paint. However, I just returned to Florida from N.Y.C. as I was helping my daughter decorate her new apartment. There was so much painting involved because of all our diy projects. I didn't have space in her tiny apartment to clean my brushes thoroughly, so I was afraid they would be done for good. I am going out and buying softener immediately!
