Blenders have become one of the most used appliances in our kitchens with the popularity of smoothies. The only problem is, they aren’t exactly easy to clean. This easy trick will show you how to clean a blender or smoothie maker in seconds and get all of the stickiness left over from your delicious smoothies out with ease!
How to Clean a Smoothie Maker or Blender
What you will need:
I love smoothies! My favorite smoothie recipe is made with a handful of baby spinach, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, a banana and almond milk. Once finished, it leaves my blender a sticky, nasty mess. I used to try to wash my blender in the sink, but couldn’t ever get it quite as clean as I like it, and I didn’t love touching the blades of the blender. Putting your blender in the dishwasher can take up quite a bit of room, and prolonged dishwashing can cause the blades to dull.
Instead of doing the work of scrubbing myself, I’ve been letting my blender pretty much clean itself. It only takes a few seconds, and very little work on my part. I also use this method to clean my Nutri-bullet when I use it for quick smoothies!
Step 1 – Fill your blender about 1/3 full with warm water.
Step 2 – Add a few drops of your favorite dish liquid.
Step 3 – Turn the blender on and let the blade guide the soapy liquid around the entire inside of your blender or smoothie maker.
Step 4 – Pour out and rinse! Your blender should be completely clean in seconds with zero effort on your part…no scrubbing, trying to get under the blades or getting your hands completely sticky in the process! You can let your blender air dry or dry it with a clean dish towel.
This easy trick makes blending smoothies less difficult…you can just make your smoothie and enjoy it without dreading the cleanup!
