Breakfast pizza made with crescent rolls

I love pizza and I also love breakfast, so why not put the two together and make breakfast pizza, right? I mean, what could possibly be more delicious than an egg pizza with all the fixins? For this recipe, I have used crescent rolls, eggs, cheese, bacon crumbles, and breakfast sausage, but you could add soooo many things to make it your own. I have also made breakfast pizzas with peppers and onions, ham, swiss cheese and jalapenos...the possibilities are endless! This easy breakfast pizza recipe is great for holiday breakfast, tailgates, brunch or any morning when you want a treat...also, it's GREAT for brinner (breakfast for dinner in case you didn't know)!

    How to Make Breakfast Pizza

    Breakfast Pizza Ingredients

    • 2 (8 ounce) crescent rolls
    • 16 ounces breakfast sausage
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 2 cups milk
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 12 eggs, beaten
    • 2 cups shredded colby jack cheese
    • 8 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
    • 1 tablespoon chopped chives, divided (optional)
    breakfast pizza ingredients

    Time needed: 25 minutes.

    Breakfast Pizza Recipe

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

    2. Spray a half sheet pan with cooking spray.

    3. Roll out the 2 cans of crescent rolls.

Spread into the pan pinching the seams together. Bake for about 12 minutes until the crust is lightly brown. Remove from the oven and set aside.

    4. Make the sausage mixture.

In a large frying pan over medium high brown up and crumble to the sausage. Do not drain the grease. Add the flour to the sausage and stir together until the flour is no longer visible. Next stir in the milk and whisk over medium high heat until it bubbles and begins to thicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.

    5. Cook the eggs.

In a large skillet over medium low heat melt the butter and pour in your beaten eggs. Season with salt pepper and half a tablespoon of chives.
Stir gently and cook until they just come together.

    6. Assemble the pizza.

Spread the sausage gravy all over the crescent roll crust.  Next, spread the eggs over that. Now add your cheese. Then add your cooked chopped bacon.

    7. Bake again for 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.

    8. Sprinkle on the chives and serve!
