What You Will Need:
½ Cup of Distilled Water
⅓ Cup of Witch Hazel ( Purchase HERE )
2 Tablespoons of Castile Soap ( Purchase HERE )
2 Tablespoons of Almond Oil ( Purchase HERE )
15 Drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil ( Purchase HERE )
Foaming Hand Soap Dispenser ( Purchase HERE )
OPTIONAL: Soap Coloring ( Purchase HERE )
Start by adding all of the ingredients to a large bowl.
If you’d like your foaming body wash to have some color, add a few drops of soap making color (it’s just like food coloring, but for soaps).
Mix well using a kitchen whisk, then pour into foaming hand soap dispenser. A regular soap dispenser will make this soap very runny.
Add a couple of pumps to a washcloth, bath poof or just apply to your body using your hands. This DIY Foaming Body Wash will leave your skin feeling so soft and smelling amazing too! And…you don’t have to run to the store to buy new when you run out…just make your own and switch up the scents if you like!

Hi, i love reading and trying out your recipes. I want to try the foaming body wash recipe, but i am wondering what would be a great substitute for the almond oil? This body wash sounds very nice. I cant wait to try it!
You could try jojoba oil or liquid coconut oil. Those would still have good smells. Hope you love it!
I just made this and used olive oil.
I used Almond scented Castile soap and lemon essential oils. It worked perfectly. It was very foamy and made my hands soft.

Oooh…I haven’t tried the almond scented Castile soap yet, but I’m definitely going to give it a try! Love that you made it your own way, and thanks for sharing!
I have never made anybody soap using witch hazel I’m wondering what benefit does that add?
Witch hazel has natural astringents in it, and I put it in most of my homemade facial cleansers as well as my body washes. Hope this helps! xoxo Jess
Where do you buy the coloring for the homemade foaming soaps?
Hi, I love your recipes. Can I use purified water instead? Thanks.
Thank you , Diana, and yes…you can absolutely use purified water. Have a great day!
I was wondering if you got an answer for smelly feet? His shoes leave an odour that lingers throughout the house.
I’m working on a post for that…stay tuned!
Oh my goodness! I cannot wait to start making some of your recipes 🙂 I was looking for a foaming diy soap to use in the bath that is family friendly….my biggest concern at this point is, with all of the oils present in the soaps, will the tub be slippery? AHHHH!!! Maybe a diy after shower spray to lessen the buildup for an upcoming blog post?! Give me more! haha Seriously though, will these make my shower slick??! Thanks so much for all of your recipes 🙂
~Sarah
I haven’t had any issues with my tub being slippery. Here is a post for my Daily Shower Spray though…in case you need it :)
I have shower cream that I purchased from LUSH ..I would like to hake into foaming bath soap, however the. consistency is very thick. Have you any tips?
Just add water until it is your desired consistency.
I followed the recipe but mine separated and I have to shake it each time before using. How can I keep that from happening?
For smelly feet try bicarb soda sprinkled into shoes.
