Oh, Christmas...how I love thee! I love the excitement of counting down until the big day. Every morning, Kate and Cam run down the stairs to look at the calendar where I normally have our countdown, but this year will be a bit different. I am going to let them take turns changing the number of days til Christmas on this cute Countdown to Christmas Dry Erase Board. I have made my own dry erase board using an old picture frame and made a dry erase board with an embellished frame in the past, but this one is a little different...
You will need an unfinished frame, Mod Podge, decorative paper, a foam brush, ribbon, and some vinyl.
Start by tracing your frame onto your paper.
Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the front of your frame.
Smooth your paper over the Mod Podged Frame. I use my Mod Podge squeegee tool to smooth out any wrinkles, but you can use an old gift card if you don't have one.
Once the Mod Podge is dry, flip your frame over and use an x-acto knife to cut out the middle of the frame. I do this step on a cutting board...you don't want to cut your table.
Now, paint a thin coat of Mod Podge on the front of your frame. At this time, cover the glass piece from your frame with your vinyl...this will be your dry erase surface.
Apply a thicker coat of Mod Podge all the way around the edge of the frame and place ribbon all the way around.
All finito! You can write your message now! I like our countdown to Christmas, but you could totally say Merry Christmas! You could even make one for your teacher and say Merry Christmas Ms. Morris...well, that's what we would say ;)
Do you have any fun Christmas crafts in the works? I would love to hear all about them!
Due to having some of my content and posts stolen by no good lazy people who don't do their own projects, I am sorry to have to truncate (shorten) my feeds. Please don't hold it against me, and continue reading, because I do love you and want to share my tutorials with you ;)Love,Jessica
