How to Clean a Dirty Sheet Pan with Video

    by Jessica 3 Comments

Sheet pans get used more than most items in our kitchen, and boy, can they get dirty! Let me show you how How to Clean a Dirty Sheet Pan with ease...I've even included a short video showing just how well it works!

How to Clean a Dirty Sheet Pan

How many times have you baked something on a sheet pan and had it burn onto the pan? Then it won't come clean in the dishwasher or when you try to clean it in the sink. Truth be told...you really shouldn't put your sheet pans in the dishwasher. After some research, I discovered that putting your sheet pans in the dishwasher can not only NOT clean your pan, but it also adheres any cooking oils or burned on foods onto your pans permanently because of the drying cycle of your dishwasher. Think about it like this...if you have a stain on a shirt and you put a hot iron on the stain, it burns the stain into the shirt permanently...same concept here. Also, soaking the pan overnight in water can cause it to rust in spots. You are probably thinking that sheet pans must be a complete pain to clean, and you are sort of right. In my latest article for eHow, I show you How to Clean Your Sheet Pans with ease...find the tutorial HERE! I also put together a quick video to show just how well it works!
