Ya'll know I'm pretty passionate about going chemical free, right? Well, I'm also all about saving some money too! Last year, I started by making my own laundry detergent and fabric softener, then yesterday, I shared my new favorite homemade liquid laundry detergent. I've even made my own stain removing spray. Today, let's talk about drying our clothes. I've tried using tennis balls as dryer balls, but folks, it does leave a little bit of a tennis ball smell on your clothes. The smell fades, but it left me feeling a little weird. I decided to try wool dryer balls (bought on Amazon), and I am in love! Not only do these dryer balls help cut my drying time in half, they also leave my clothes feeling soft and static free! And...I only had to buy them once...I won't be rushing out the door to buy dryer sheets any time soon, that's for sure!
I do like for my laundry to smell good, so I add a couple drops of essential oils on each of them before tossing them into the dryer.
You only need 3 dryer balls for a medium sized load of laundry, and with addition of the oils, your clothes will smell delightful! No worries about the oils harming your clothes either! The oils are absorbed into the wool and will only lightly scent your laundry.
I've seen them in stores like Target, but like I mentioned before, I got mine on Amazon.com. I have to tell you, it feels so great to wash and dry my laundry with absolutely no chemicals! We haven't sacrificed softness or scent, and I've not heard one complaint from my husband or kiddos!
