An Update On Our Aprilaire Experience!

    by Jessica Leave a Comment

AprilaireLast month, I told you all about Aprilaire and their fabulous products that were being installed to help improve the air quality in our home.  You can find the original post with the product details ---> HERE!  I thought I would wait a month and see what differences I noticed.  Well, friends, the difference is amazing!!!

    The Products We Received:

    Whole Home Air Cleaner

    Steam Humidifier

    Dehumidifier

Here are a few of the differences that we have noticed...

Our skin isn't dry and itchy...quite the opposite in fact.  I am usually piling lotion on 3 times a day by now to keep from itching my skin, but now I don't have to do that.  I apply lotion after my shower, then I don't even think about it.

Our allergies are minimal and our throats aren't scratchy.  Usually by now, the kids have woken up several mornings with sore, scratchy throats, and I have had to try to push them to go to school any way.  Not now...everyone seems to be "feeling" better.  No dry sinuses either!

Our house smells clean.  Not like laundry detergent, just clean.  There isn't that weird stuffy smell here.  The air isn't thick when you walk in.  It's quite the opposite...thin and just clean.

We don't have static in our hair and clothes.  In the cold months, it's usually a pain to brush Kate's hair...now, it's nice and smooth instead of being unruly and sticking straight up from her head.

We don't have to change our filter every 3 weeks which will save us about $200 per year!  This is huge!  We were buying stacks of filters before, and had to change them out every 3-4 weeks.  The filter is now in our attic, and only has to be changed every 6 months...whoop!

This is the best thing yet....we have been able to keep the thermostat set lower.  I remember Mark telling me I would be able to do this, but honestly doubted it.  I like being warm.  We usually have to set the thermostat to 72 or 73 to keep our home warm, but this year, we haven't had to turn the thermostat above 70 degrees!

We are enjoying our home this winter instead of constantly fiddling with the thermostat!

    Aprilaire Comfort

The differences are amazing, and actually have me looking forward to seeing what differences we will see in the summer.  Our comfort level and energy savings have this family smiling from ear to ear!
