Hi friends! It's time for another thrifty makeover with my girls from The Thrift Store Decor Team! This month, I decided to go in a different direction than I normally do since our kiddos just went back to school. So, instead of my normal thrifty home decor, it's all about the organization. So here is how I made my Thrifted Chalkboard Paper Organization Station...
I started with this old mailbox looking container. If you know a better name for it or what it actually is, please tell me! I didn't actually pick this up from the thrift store, my Grandmommy gave it to me on a recent trip to WV a few weeks ago. I knew it would be perfect to corral my kiddos school papers. There are so many!
I spray painted the entire thing with two coats of chalky finish spray pain from Krylon in morning sky, which is a pretty baby blue.
Then I taped off a large stripe and painted on two coats of chalkboard paint, and removed the painters tape before the second coat was dry.
I chalked the words School Papers on the front and added the papers that my kiddos have brought home so far...it works perfectly! I love that I can repurpose this little paper organizer and change the words on the front whenever I please!
