In our home we love breakfast...especially the sugary kind. I know, shame on me! We love french toast, cinnamon toast, and I love cinnamon lattes! I wanted to make some fun and cute shakers with mason jars, and set up a little area near my coffee maker and toaster so we can just grab them and use them. Let me show you how easy it is to take a mason jar and turn it into a shaker...
You will need a jar and lid, a clean nail, and a hammer.
Take the flat part of the lid and turn it upside down...trust me on this please.
Hammer as many holes as you like in the lid. Make sure to hold the jar steady so you don't smash it.
I nailed about 14 holes in mine.
I made two...one for powdered sugar and one for cinnamon sugar.
The powdered sugar for french toast...
and the cinnamon for my lattes and cinnamon toast! YUM!

What a great idea! Based on your experience, how well would it work {if even possible} to line up the holes with the cute pattern on the lid?
Jessica says
Oh girl! I'm sure you could totally put the lids all the way on in the beginning and make them perfect. I am so random that I thought of that afterwards.

Did the lids come pre-cut (with the "floral" pattern - I know, I know, it isn't really floral but they look like flower petals!)? And if so, (or not?) where did you find the lids? This is an awesome idea!!
Thanks in advcance!!

OMGOSH, Brilliant! Simply Brilliant! I have wanted to figure out a way to use my Mason jars like this but to "buy" the lid with holes already is surprisingly ridiculously expensive as well as they only make them for regular mouth not wide mouth like I prefer. I apologize for leaving such a lengthy comment but finding your site has brightened my day🤭😊

Hi, Britt! I'm so glad I could help! I agree...all of the store bought Mason Jar products can get a bit pricey, and making them yourself is easy. Enjoy your new shakers! xoxo, Jess
