Fall has swept in quickly here in KY, which means there are leaves everywhere and a ton of my plants have dried up or withered away. Usually I wait until things get way out of control, then I have a major mess on my hands, but this year, I am going to get ahead of it. See, we have trees all over our neighborhood, and because of the way our house is situated, all of their leaves blow right into our yard, then the wind pushes them against our front door. Sometimes I like the look of the leaves in the yard, but then one day, I try to walk out my front door, and they are literally piled 2-3 feet high in front of the door!
Not only are the leaves getting out of control, but my hostas turned into giants this year, the lamb’s ear grew a little nuts and somehow, mint started taking over the front of our home. Time to get this mess cleaned up with a little help from my new friend, the Rubbermaid Roughneck Wheeled Refuge Trash Can!
I started with the dead foliage first, and pulled up all of the mint. Next, I divided the hostas and shared some of them with friends who plan on replanting them.
Finally, I started gathering as many leaves as I could. This way, maybe I can keep them from getting out of hand! I love that the Rubbermaid Roughneck has LinerLock bag cinch to prevent the bag from falling in. Nothing makes me more mad than having to pull a trash bag up around the neck of the can over and over again.
It also has an over-sized, fixed handle for easy support and inline skate wheels for easy and smooth transport along with a wide wheel base for stability.
My Rubbermaid Roughneck definitely making cleaning up our yard a little more enjoyable! Now I’m off to clean up the backyard…it’s so bad, I can’t even show you!!!
