Kate and I are in full holiday treat making mode, and these super easy chocolate dipped marshmallows are one of our new favorite treats to make for Christmas! They can be switched up for birthday parties, baby showers, or any get together!
You start by melting a bag of chocolate chips. You can use milk chocolate chips like we did, or go for dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, white chocolate or any colored candy melts!
You can use a double boiler, melt your chips in the microwave or use one of these cute little candy melting pots that Kate and I found recently that makes it super simple and the cleanup is super easy. Below you can find it on Amazon if you are interested in buying one for yourself...we've already used ours to make White Chocolate Peppermint Bark, and LOVE it!
Once you have your chocolate melted, you simply place a marshmallow (we used the extra large ones) on some sort of stick (we used the two pronged one that came with our melting pot, but you can use a scewer or a fork. Dip the marshmallow down and twirl it, covering the bottom of the marshmallow, then bring it up slowly, letting the excess drip back into the pot.
Now, drizzle or shake sprinkles onto the chocolate and flip them over onto a wax covered cookie sheet and place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to set the chocolate.
You can serve and eat them as is, or pop a stick into the bottom of the marshmallow or get extra festive and use a pretty paper straw or even a candy cane stick!
Like I said before, these can be changed up for any party or get together throughout the year! I can't wait to make some more!
