Kate and I have been talking a lot about trying new foods lately. I recently signed her up for cooking classes just to get her more comfortable in the kitchen, and she immediately started trying new things. I have heard that when you get your kiddos involved in cooking their meals, they will be more likely to try foods that they helped prepare themselves. It absolutely works too! Since she has been helping me prepare our family meals, she has not only been trying new foods that we cook, she is also asking if we can cook some new foods just so she can try them!
Sometimes you just don’t have the time or energy to cook a meal though, am I right? I mean, life gets busy, and this mom definitely needs to be able to call in the calvary and just order a pizza! I thought I would see if I could get Kate to try some new toppings on our pizza since my husband and I love adding different veggies and such to our pizza. We got online and took a look at Papa John’s menu, and what happened next blew my mind!
We chose the Create Your Own Pizza option, and took a look at the options. She started playing around and adding different ingredients to her virtual pizza, almost like it was a game or something. Finally I explained that the rest of us were actually getting hungry and we needed to get serious and make a decision. To my surprise, she chose pineapple, green peppers (which she just recently started liking) and Canadian bacon! We added it to our cart and ordered a pepperoni pizza as well, just in case it was a bust for her.
Within 25 minutes, we had two piping hot Papa John’s pizzas, and it was time to get down to business with the tasting!
Don’t these pizzas look absolutely delicious? I love dipping my crust in Papa John’s amazing garlic butter!
Kate picked up a piece of her pizza, and devoured it! She was so excited to get to pick out her own healthy toppings and asked when we could order again so she could create a different pizza! Win, win!
As a mom, it’s so nice to be able to rely on a company like Papa John’s that is committed to using quality ingredients. Papa John’s has long term relationships with farmers and vendors, which makes me feel good about feeding their food to my kiddos. Their pizza has NO trans fats, no MSG, no BHA or BHT, no fillers in its meat toppings and no partially hydrogenated oils. That’s so important to me! I mean, they say, “Better Ingredients. Better Pizza.” for a reason!
So, put up your feet, moms! Take a break and let your kiddos help put their pizzas together! You can order from Papa John’s Online, HERE!
