Thank you for prompt response. Will baking soda/scrub sponge also clean the rest of the flat surface of the iron?Jessica: Yes, it should scrub the residue off of the flat surface. :)
Will the glitter filled glass ornament project work with plastic ornaments?Jessica: Yes they will! You are going to love them!
Where did you purchase your dryer sheets to make your own? Amazon carries already made up reusable dryer sheets. These aren’t the kind you used, are they?Jessica: I buy them at the grocery store...they are just reusable dish washing cloths. I do not buy the pre-made reusable dryer sheets, because I like knowing exactly what ingredients are in mine. Hope this helps!
First, thanks, for the shaving cream advice to clean rubber tire marks out of a carpet.
My next question is: Can a foam rubber mattress be cleaned of adult urine?Jessica: I'm so glad my advice for cleaning the rubber tire marks from the wheelchair helped you! As far as cleaning urine from a foam mattress, You will need a roll of paper towels, a spray bottle, toothbrush, vacuum, baking soda, and distilled white vinegar. Wet stains should be soaked up by blotting with paper towels as much as possible. Spray the vinegar generously on the urine stained area. Use a toothbrush to rub the vinegar in. Use paper towels to soak up the vinegar from the mattress. Take the baking soda and sprinkle it over stained areas until covered. Let the baking soda set in for a couple of hours. The baking soda will start to clump up as it soaks in the vinegar. This is what removes the vinegar along with odor. Use your vacuum to clean up the dried baking soda from the mattress going over the bed until all the baking soda is removed completely. Hope this helps!
How do I get ink out of my chair and carpet?Jessica: Hi, Nellie! Here is a post that I recently wrote on How to Remove Ink Stains ---> https://www.mom4real.com/how-to-get-ink-stains-out-of-clothes-and-fabric/ It should work on your chair and carpet too. I would just test a small area before getting started to make sure it doesn't harm the color/fabric. Hope this helps!
Any way to refresh dryer wool balls? Starting to have static in my dryer but love the balls for ecological reasons.Jessica: Hi, Nancy! You can place each wool dryer ball in a sock (where your toes go), and tie the other end of the sock closed, then wash in hot water in your washing machine. After they have been washed, toss them back in the dryer to dry...this should refresh them! Have a great day!

You can mix different scents to get the one you like. Hope this helps! If this isn't what you meant, you can email me at email@example.com and I'll try to answer you better :)
My son’s steam iron has a blackened coating on the ironing surface. Do you have a cleaning solution/procedure for that? He is never one for PM ( preventative maintenance). Thank you for all the other hints. The ones I’ve tried work great!Jessica: Hi, Edie! Pour out any water left in the iron. Pour in distilled water until the reservoir is one third full. Turn on the iron to its highest setting and steam-iron a clean cloth for a few minutes, letting clean water flush out any vent deposits. Once the water is out, turn the iron off and let it cool completely. If there is residue left, make a paste of baking soda and water. Start with baking soda and add water until it thickens to the consistency of toothpaste. Use a scrub sponge to work the paste onto the iron surface and scrub any residue away. Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe the iron's surface clean. Hope this helps!

Hi. I read your article on melting windshield ice. Why is water added to the alcohol in the spray bottle? Thanks for your response.Jessica: The alcohol is pretty strong, so I dilute it with water. It still works the same, but uses less alcohol. Hope this helps! Jess
How do I remove scuff marks from dress shoes? Some are suede and others are leather and vinyl (plastic like shiny coating). Also, I have been dry cleaning my clothes at home using a kit. I’ve tried Dryel and Woolite. However, neither seems to get them clean. Often they still have makeup and or sweat stains and a dingy look. Thanks!Jessica: Hi, Courtney! For the vinyl shoes, you can try using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove the scuff marks...just lightly rub the area where the scuff mark is. As far as the suede shoes go, dampen an old toothbrush and add a tiny bit of dish liquid, then scrub the mark gently to remove it. For the home dry cleaning...I would only dry clean the items that are dry clean only using this method. Dry cleaning and washing just aren't the same, so getting the stains out of the clothes first is needed for these items. Copy and paste this link in your internet browser to get the recipe for my favorite homemade stain remover...it works miracles! ---> https://www.mom4real.com/the-best-homemade-stain-remover-recipe/

Hi, first I LOVE everything you do! Thank you for sharing all of your wonderful ideas with us! Do you have a version of your cleaning lists that I can edit? I made the peppermint sugar scrub and gave it to my mother-in-law. While she liked it, she said it was very hard and difficult to get out of the jar. What did I do wrong? It shouldn’t be that hard to get out of the jar or should I be putting something else in so it does not solidify so hard? Thank you for your help!Jessica: It may need to have more coconut oil added to it. She could melt 1/2 cup and stir it in to make it a little softer. Some places have different humidity levels, or the the coconut oil to sugar ratio may have been off a bit, but a little more coconut oil added to it should soften it right up! Hope this helps! Jess
