Do you have a recipe for DIY foaming hand soap tablets?
Thanks.Jessica: I don't yet, but I've been thinking about working on one! I'll give them a shot and get back to you!Hi. I have recently came across your website. I love it. I have just made your toilet cleaner tablets. Mine did not fiz so much though and I had to leave it for quite a while to dissolve.. Did I do something wrong?
Jessica: You may need to add a little more citric acid next time. Depending on the moisture levels where you live, they can come out differently. Hope this helps!Just a compliment! You made my pre spring/summer planning splendid! I NEVER thought I'd find anything to rid myself from the carpenter bees!!!! I'm now following you on FB too!!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH! Guess who's headed over to Amazon?!
Jessica: Thank you so much for the kinds words...you made my day! The carpenter bees here are so aggressive, so I'm happy to help! Good luck!Your dishwasher looks fantastic after the vinegar cleaning. Would vinegar work on my new stainless interior dishwasher?
Jessica: Yes ma'am! Vinegar works great on stainless steel!Hi, I would like to know how to clean the countertops around a glass top and where we prepare our food? The tops are wood. I have tried lemon juice, strong degreaser and the counters stay sticky?
Jessica: Have you tried some Dawn dish liquid? I find it removes most stickiness from just about anything. If they wood doesn't lose its stickiness after that, you may want to sand them lightly and add some mineral oil to season them. Hope this helps!Do you you have a DIY for Damp Rid? My basement is mildewy and moldy.
Jessica: Damp Rid is probably the best product on the market unless you purchase a dehumidifier for that area. I wish I had a better answer for you!Hi.
I have hard wood floors. What do you recommend to clean them that does not leave any residue? They have also slightly lost the shine in certain areas. What’s your recommendation to revive the shine without again leaving residue to show foot prints.Jessica: Hands down, my favorite product for cleaning and restoring shine to hardwood floors is Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner. They even have a spray mop version if you like that kind of convenience. I bought mine at Target, and it can be found in most grocery stores, Lowe's and on Amazon. Hope this helps! How to safely remove sticky labels from tin surfaces?
Jessica: I like to use a few drops of orange essential oil to remove stickers, labels and price tags from all items. Here is a post showing how easy it really works! How to Remove Stickers and Labels in SecondsHow to clean greasy kitchen cabinets?
Jessica: I like to wipe my cabinets down with a mixture of ½ water and ½ vinegar. I simply spray a damp cloth with the vinegar mixture and wipe down all of my cabinets. If your cabinets have a thicker coat of greasy buildup on them, you can use some Castile soap or Murphy's Oil soap and warm water to wipe them down! Are there any tips for cleaning brass? Can you use the same stuff as for copper?
Jessica: Try rubbing it with ketchup! Apply a thin paste of ketchup or tomato paste and let it sit for about an hour, then wash with soapy water and rinse. It should help make your brass shine like new!I'm looking for a diy laundry soap.
In regards to your liquid laundry soap, is it safe to use if you have a septic system? Thanks!
Jessica: Yes, it is!My old towels feel ruff and scratchy. How do I get them soft?
Jessica: Try washing them in really hot water with a cup of distilled white vinegar. This will help strip them and get them really clean and soft!I have a marble counter top is predominantly white background with grey and black flecks.
There are darker areas on the places I use most, such as the drainage area around the sink and the work surface I use the most.
The places less used are the original colour.
How do I get the original colour back please.
I live in Spain so do not have access to the American products.
Thank youJessica: I'm sorry you are dealing with that! First, I have to say...make sure you never use vinegar on the marble...just in case. You can try to sprinkle some baking soda on the spots and rub them in with a soft cloth. Let the baking soda sit for a bit, then wipe away. It may absorb some of the discoloration. I'll be doing some research to see if I can find a better solution for you! I've heard Spain is beautiful! What is the best fly deterrent? I am overrun with these pests!
Jessica: I wish I had a really good answer for you, but flies seem to be something that I cannot battle...they are horrible here in the summer. You can try a lemongrass scented spray to keep them away, but I find that doesn't work well outside. Mix 10 drops of lemongrass essential oil with a cup of water and a couple of drops of dish liquid to make the spray. Good luck!Do you have tips for getting perfume smell out of a vinyl/fabric purse? Bought it used, she must have saturated it with this cloying stuff. I can't use it as is!
Thanks!Jessica: I would try putting a bowl or cup of baking soda inside of the bag and letting it sit overnight. Then remove the baking soda and see if it has soaked up some of the smell. You may have to do this several times to completely remove the smell. Hope this helps! How to clean stainless steel fridge?
Jessica: Here ya go! How to Clean a Stainless Steel Refrigerator and Keep it Smudge and Fingerprint FreeI tripped the other day when walking in the kitchen to put a empty plastic soda bottle in the recycle bag. I think it was two liter size. I had just realized I turned the oven on to preheat to make banana bread. I changed my mind and turned oven off. I left the door open for some heat. So, I trip and I don’t know how the soda bottle ended up on the electric oven coils! I was or am horrified. I rent and the stove was new when I moved in last month. How do I clean the coils?
Thank you.Jessica: You are in luck...it should actually be pretty easy to get the plastic off! Use these steps to get it off ---> How to Clean Melted Plastic From a StoveWill the toilet bowl cleaning bombs damage the toilet or cause it to leak a little out of the bottom?
Jessica: No...they are very mild. You may want to check and tighten the bolts that connect your toilet tank to the bowl. I recently had to replace those bolts due to rusting because our toilet was so old. It's extremely inexpensive and easy to do. Hope this helps! Can I use the toilet cleaner balls if I have a septic tank??
