Hey there, Mom 4 Real readers! It’s Abby from Just a Girl and Her Blog here, and I’m back with a Summer Bucket List planning printable! SUMMER!! Can I just tell you how excited I was to type that word in the post title?! It has been a long time coming, but that wonderfully sunny time of year will be upon us shortly, and it’s time to start making plans for all of the fun things we want to do when the kiddos get out of school. And since planning is always more fun when you have a pretty list to keep track of all your brilliant ideas, that’s what I’m bringing to you today!
If you’ve never done a summer bucket list before, it’s basically just a brainstormed list of fun things you’d like to do while the kids are out of school for a few months. It’s great for those days when they’re are walking around the house saying, “I’m bored!!” because your arsenal is already fully stocked with activity ideas! To make our brainstorming session a little easier, I broke our bucket list up into categories– outdoor excursions, crafts and learning, food fun, trips to take, and miscellaneous (to catch all of the ideas that don’t fit into any category).
The two biggest things I usually take into consideration when choosing an activity is how much it will cost and how much time it will take, so I have included columns for those two factors. When our family is ready to do an activity, we can first think about how much we want to spend and the amount of time we have and then pick something from the list that meets our criteria. Some of the things that my two boys were most excited about– like building a fort and spending time at our neighborhood pool– were even free! It just goes to show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have fun!
I have always been a big planner for things like this because I know that if I wake up each day and try to wing it, we’ll end up with a lot of “I’m bored!!!” days, a lot more time in front of the TV, and fewer days full of fun experiences. Making this list together and displaying it somewhere that the whole family can access it will certainly help us to make the most of our summer!
Thank you to Jessica for letting me hijack her blog once again, and a big thanks to you for stopping by! Last month when I shared my project planning printable, I talked about how I was planning my home office makeover. Well, a few days ago, I had the big reveal!!!
I’d love to have you over to snoop around my new office/craft space! ;) Hope to see you there!
