State Silhouette Dropcloth Pillow

I’ve seen quite a few projects using silhouettes of different states lately, and have been dying to have a pillow with the silhouette of Kentucky.  Last week, I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Thistlewood Farm, and saw that Karianne had made the most fabulous canvases with the silhouette of Kentucky, and I could stand it no longer!  I must have a Kentucky pillow, so I decided to make one.  I totally stole her idea and called my friend with a Silhouette to ask if she could cut the shape of KY for me…and she did!
I took the center piece of vinyl out for another project, and stuck the large outline on a Dropcloth Pillow that I had already made.  I used my stencil brush and dabbed on black paint inside of the outline.  Then I decided to add a little embellishment.  I sewed a quick rufflemade a ruffled flower and sewed them on the pillow.  Now my Kentucky pillow has just the right amount of fluff for me.
To see the tutorial on how to make your own stencil, you can check out my Ampersand Pillow and Freezer Paper/Vinyl Stencil Tutorial.
I am so happy with my new pillow!
To be honest, I have had pillow fever lately…last week I made this little cutie for my daughter’s school carnival silent auction…
Have you made anything using your state’s silhouette?

Due to having some of my content and posts stolen by no good lazy people who don’t do their own projects, I am sorry to have to truncate (shorten) my feeds. Please don’t hold it against me, and continue reading, because I do love you and want to share my tutorials with you ;)

SO adorable! I love it! Did you just buy a canvas drop cloth from Home Depot/Lowes? I just painted a floor cloth with a drop cloth (coming to my blog soon!) Looks amazing and the ruffle totally adds to the cute-ness. I’ve got to figure out somewhere that I can do one just like it! Thanks for sharing!

I just love that it is KY! My momma lives in E-town and I love Kentucky even if it is TOO far from Utah…
