Before I share this super fabulous homemade gak recipe, I have been dying to share some news with you! I am so excited to be on the Elmer’s Crafty Mama’s Crew! That pretty much means that Kate and I will get to show you some fun projects using Elmer’s througout the year, and we are sooo excited…Elmer’s has been a long time favorite of ours! Okay..so now that I have spilled the beans, let’s get down to business!
This year, Kate and I wanted to do something fun for her classmates for Valentine’s Day. Something different and not candy related. We decided that gak would be fun and inexpensive, so we gave it a try. We kicked it up a notch and added some glitter, because who doesn’t love glitter?
You will need the following materials:
8 ounces of Elmer’s Glue (white)
1 small container of Elmer’s Glitter
1 teaspoon of Borax
1/2 cup of warm water, plus water for the glue container
You may need a little help with this step. While stirring the glue mixture, start slowly pouring the water and borax mixture in. Your gak will start to take form! Abandon the spoon and mush it around with your hands. Once it has formed, hold it up and squeeze as much water out as possible.
We filled these fun bubble containers with gak for Kate’s friends for Valentine’s Day! We found them at Bake It Pretty!
How fun is that???
Now..go get your craft on!
