Hey there Mom4 Real readers! It’s Chelsea from Making Home Base! I’m so excited to be back this month to share another fun craft for you. With back to school just around the corner I know you moms of school aged kiddos are busy getting things ready. I thought now would be the perfect time to share a quick and easy project that you or your kiddos can use, a chalkboard notebook!
Like Jess, I have an undying love for chalkboard paint. It’s almost like a game to see what I can turn into a chalkboard around here. My latest project was this composition notebook turn chalkboard notebook!
To make this you’ll need a composition notebook (.50 at Target) a foam brush (.20 at Michaels) and chalkboard paint.
Make sure you wipe your notebook of really good before painting. Then get started painting, allowing to try between coats. It took three coats to cover this notebook completely.
After the paint is dry, you have to season your chalkboard. That’s super easy! You just take the side of your chalk and rub it onto your chalkboard notebook, then wipe it off with a dry rag or paper towel.
Now you have the perfect chalkboard notebook. I thought this would be great to write notes on, homework assignments, and reminders.
Since I don’t have any back to school kiddos, I made this one for myself :)
For fun, I drew a little tribal print on mine, which I think came out pretty cute.
There are endless possibilities to a chalkboard notebook and it’s something outside your normal notebook! I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks again, Jess for letting me take over Mom 4 Real for the day! I always love my time over here :)
How stinkin’ cute is that??? Thanks so much for sharing, Chels!
Be sure to check out some of Chelsea’s other amazingness…
Have a beautiful day!!!
