DIY Dry Erase Board

Sponsored Disclosure Make Your Own DIY Dry Erase Board with Elmers Foam Board

Hey there crafty peeps!  Last month I shared a fun recipe for Making Your Own Glitter Gak using Elmer’s glue, and this month, I have two fun projects that I want to share using Elmer’s Board Mates line of products!  Kate and I have been working on her bedroom lately since she is moving away from being a little girl, and becoming a young lady.  She really wanted something fun to hang on her door, so we decided on a DIY Dry Erase Board using Elmer’s awesome dry erase foam board.  It turned out super cute and couldn’t have been more easy to make!  Let me show you how we made ours…

Elmer's Board Mate Product Line

We started by gathering up some of the cool Board Mate’s products!

Foam Board Cut Out

Next, we traced a pretty frame onto the foam board.

Use an xacto knife to easily cut foam board

Using an x-acto knife, I cut out the shape of the frame.  This step is absolutely for the adults to do.  The blade is very sharp, but will make cutting the foam board a breeze!

Elmer's Glue

Once the foam was cut in the shape we wanted, we decided to embellish it a bit!  We traced the shape with a thin bead of glue.

Elmer's Board Mates Glitter

Then bring on the bling!  We sprinkled glitter all the way around the foam board.

Elmer's Foam Mounting Tape

Next we added a decorative clothes pin using the foam mounting tape so Kate could add some fun pics and change them out when she wants!  We also used some of the holographic letters to add her name!

Add thumb tacks to the back of bottle caps to make fun tacks

We added a couple of pretty tacks that we made using thumbtacks and fun bottlecaps so she could tack things on to her board. Then Kate wrote some fun messages and added some of the Board Mate arrow stickers!

Use dry erase markers to write fun messages on the board

You can write on these boards with dry erase markers!  This allows Kate to change the message as often as she likes…I’m still waiting to see “My Mom Rocks!”

Make a DIY Dry Erase Board

We had so much fun making her DIY Dry Erase Board!  It’s super light, and hangs easily using a 3M hook so you don’t have to damage your doors!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow and see the super cute Earring Holder Kate and I made using this awesome foam board!
