Weekly Goals Printable ~ Free Printable!

How to Accomplish Your Goals in 2014

Hey there, Mom 4 Real readers! I’m Abby from Just a Girl and Her Blog, where I write about all things creative from decor and organization to crafts and DIY. I am so thrilled that the super sweet and creative Miss Jessica has asked me to come visit every once in a while and share some printables with you!

If you’ve ever been to my blog, you know I am big on goals. {I think everyone is at this time of year, right?!} I love making lists and setting goals, but do you know what I love even more? Achieving them! I can make lists all I want, but unless I’m taking steps to actually make those goals happen, I won’t accomplish anything. That’s where today’s printable comes in. I wanted to have a system in place where I could make weekly goals, break them down into action steps, and block out time to actually DO them. Here’s what I came up with:

Goals for the Week Blank

It always helps to have a pretty place to keep track of things, right? ;) So each Saturday night I get out one of my goal sheets and set at least 3 goals for the week. They can be big or small, but when I put it on the sheet, I am committing to set aside time to make them happen that week. So if one of my goals for the year is to give my living room a makeover, this week I will make it my goal to start refinishing a dresser I bought to turn into a TV stand. If I want to set up working organizational systems in each room of my house in 2014, this week I’ll start by organizing all of my kids’ toys.

Once I set my goals, I break each one down into action steps. Organizing all of the toys might seem like an overwhelming task, for example, but if I break it down into three manageable chunks (sort everything into piles, buy the necessary bins, create labels for each bin), it doesn’t seem quite as daunting.

Goals Sheet Labeled

After I have my goals and action steps planned, I start filling in the calendar. I list any commitments, appointments, and lessons we having going on for the week so that I don’t double book something. The gray dotted lines help split each day up into morning, afternoon, and evening, so I can really see my availability.

Calendar Close

When the essentials are filled in, I see what time I have available and schedule each of my action steps. Once they’re on the calendar, that time is marked as busy, and everything else has to work around it. After you have your main goals and action steps planned, feel free to add in other tasks you want to get done during the week– cleaning, date night, errands, etc. Notice, though, that not all of the blocks are filled in. We all know that things come up sometimes and even the most closely calculated plans have to be adjusted, so I always leave a bit of margin in case the unexpected happens.

We’re all busy, but I know that if I go into my week with a plan in place to accomplish my goals, I am a lot more likely to get things done than if I just hope I’ll find the time. Taking just 5 minutes before the week begins to get organized really helps me maximize productivity, allowing me to accomplish more of my goals! {And who doesn’t want that?!}

Thanks again to Jessica for inviting me to over today, and thank YOU for reading! For more printables and organization ideas, {including How I Organized My Whole Life} visit me at Just a Girl and Her Blog or follow along on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Google+, and Instagram. Happy planning!

    I *love* this, Abby & Jessica! I am such a list-maker and it always seems to help me get something done when I actually write it down. Setting weekly goals and then breaking those goals into action steps is bound to make them more achievable! Thanks so much for the printable…here’s to a more organized 2014!
