Make Your Own Printable Place Cards

Printable Chalkboard Placecards a Tutorial and a Virtual Progressive Thanksgiving Dinner Okay…I have to admit, I’m not really a tablescape kind of gal.  We typically grab our plates and load up our food straight from the pans.  But…on Thanksgiving, things are a bit different.  We get a little more fancy so to speak.  We break out the “good dishes” and cloth napkins.  We even add place cards…just in case nobody knows where to sit ;)  I mean, certainly we couldn’t have Aunt Mathilda sitting next to Uncle Hubert…they totally don’t get along!  ( I don’t really know who those people are, but they would not like each other…I’m sure of it.)

Printable Placecards Tutorial

Anyhoooo….I’m going to show you how to make the easiest printable place cards ever…like really…ever!

If you would like to download these and print them, simply click —>  HERE! Chalkboard Printable Place Cards

I use www.picmonkey.com.  It’s totally free and super fun.  You can edit photos, create your own printables, and soooo many other things.

I created the printable above there, and if you want to use them, you can simply right click and print then add your names with a chalk pen, or you can right click the photo, save it to your computer, and add names to them in Picmonkey and print them off after.   Let me show you what I mean…

Picmonkey Place Cards Tutorial

I started out with a white image … I can’t post it here, but you can email me at mom4realky@gmail.com and I’ll send it to you.

Once I had it uploaded, I went to the little butterfly icon on the left side and scrolled down to the LABELS overlay.  I changed the color to a grey color that resembles a chalkboard finish and then right clicked and chose Duplicate Image.  I added as many as I could on my white image since it is preconfigured to print out on my printer paper.

Picmonkey Place Cards Tutorial Adding Text Once I had the label overlays on the page, I wanted to add the text to each one.  I clicked on the Tt in the menu and selected Great Vibes then Add Text.  I typed in my name, Jessica, and chose white for the color (like chalk) and placed it in the middle of the first label.  It sounds more complicated than it is…pinky promise.

Place Cards I continued until I had added all of our names.  For this purpose, I just added our immediate family member’s names.

Now I just save, print, then cut out and place them at each place setting.

So…what do you think?  Will you “fancy” it up and make some place cards of your own?

I have an extra treat for y’all… I actually created this post as a part of a fabulous Thanksgiving Progressive Dinner.
