Now that we are all stuffed full of turkey and pumpkin pie, it’s time to really get into the Christmas spirit. Some of my friends are hosting a Dollar Tree Christmas Party, and I thought it would be fun to see what I could come up with. This was so much fun. Kate and I took a trip to our Dollar Tree and came home with all kinds of goodies. They had tons of fun Christmas stuff, but I gravitated toward these styrofoam balls in the craft section. We made this cute little snowman with ours…
Can you believe these were only $1 a pack? They are around $5 everywhere else.
We bought 3 different sizes and some wooden skewers from the kitchen section. We also bought some ribbon and puff paint. Thew wood skewers poke right through the styrofoam, to make the perfect snowman body.
We coated the entire snowman body with Mod Podge.
Then we dusted the body with glitter for a sparkly snow effect. After the Mod Podge and glitter were dry, we simply painted on the carrot nose and coal eyes and mouth, wrapped a little ribbon around the neck and poked some twigs in for arms. at the last minute, we grabbed a little twisty piece of potpourri for the hat…cute, huh?
