With the Fourth of July weekend coming, I thought I would repost How to Slice a Watermelon, Perfectly! I will definitely be cutting one up for a party we are going to…how about you?
On a hot summer day, there is nothing better than a cold, juicy, slice of watermelon! I am pretty sure I could eat my weight in watermelon! This past weekend, we went to a cookout at a friends house, and at the last minute, I decided to slice up the left over half of watermelon in my fridge, and take it with me. Within minutes of sitting it on the table, it was gone, devoured in minutes by kids and adults alike. It’s just so refreshing, especially when it’s ninety two degrees outside! Yesterday, my friend, Kara, whose bbq we were attending, asked me how I cut my watermelon. I have been asked this many times, so I thought maybe I would just share my little secret step by step….
1. Start with a large seedless watermelon (wash it first), a large butcher-type knife, a smaller knife, cutting board, and large bowl or container.
2. Cut your watermelon from end to end with the larger knife. (Watch your fingers!)
3. You will then have two halves. Cut each half down the center, top to bottom. (into quarters)
4. Now, take your smaller knife and run in from the top right edge of one of your watermelon corners in an arc shape (follow the rind of the watermelon, like a smiley face) all the way to the left corner.
5. Now take your smaller knife and slice the watermelon while it is still resting in the rind. You can slice it in thick or thin slices, depending on your preference.
You are all done! Just put it in a bowl, or eat it just like that! I like it chilled a little in the refrigerator, I think it brings out the sweetness! Enjoy!
Due to having some of my content and posts stolen by no good lazy people who don’t do their own projects, I am sorry to have to truncate (shorten) my feeds. Please don’t hold it against me, and continue reading, because I do love you and want to share my tutorials with you ;)
Love,
Jessica

I love this…I think most produce is more likely to be eaten when it is cut into user-friendly pieces!

Love the pictures along with the steps. This will come in handy because I’m young and just starting out on my own. Therefore, everything my Mom did, I have to learn.

We never take the outside off of ours. How funny. I’d never thought of doing it this way. I like to have something to hold onto when I’m chomping down on my watermelon.
Thanks for reminding me about watermelon! I love to sprinkle salt on it:) Cheers from VoiceBoks…

I never thought about slicing in the rind, but I do all the other steps, just slice it first then slice it out of the rind. I’ll have to do the next one that way! Thanks for following me at Life or Something Like It. Following you back!
