How To Start Seeds In 3 Days
May 20, 2013 By Jessica 6 Comments

I love flowers. There is nothing better than having coffee on my patio in the mornings, surrounded by all of the vibrant colors in my garden. I especially love flowers that climb trellises and fences. This year, I decided to add some new climbers to my garden, and I wanted them to grow quickly. To be honest, I just forgot to do my usual indoor seed planting weeks ago like I was supposed to. So, when I saw a tip in Southern Living Magazine last week, I decided to try it. Now I am going to show you how {Read More…}

Grilled Romaine Salad Recipe with Balsamic Dressing
May 17, 2013 By Jessica 5 Comments

I’ve never been a big salad eater…lettuce with a little dressing just seems kind of blah to me. Well, my mind has been changed…or maybe I should say my taste buds have reconsidered. A few months ago, a friend had us over for dinner, and served grilled romaine salad before dinner. My husband and I looked at each other like she had lost her mind, but it was surprisingly one of the yummiest things I have ever eaten! Now every time I see grilled romaine on a menu at a restaurant, I order it. I decided that with summer coming, {Read More…}

I also love wine, which means there are wine corks a plenty around here. So, I guess if life gives you wine corks, you must make something with them, right? This is a southern girls match made in Heaven, a monogram made with wine corks. All you need to make your own is a wooden or paper mache’ letter, a few wine corks, and {Read More…}

Chalkboard Plant Markers with Silhouette
May 8, 2013 By Jessica 4 Comments

I am a gardener at heart. I love digging in the dirt, planting seeds, and watching them grow into something pretty and useful. My favorite part of our family’s garden is our herb garden. I love walking out with my clippers and cutting fresh herbs to add to our meals. Every year I like to add a new herb to our garden, which means seeds must be planted. To help keep track of which herbs are growing where, I decided to use my silhouette and their new chipboard along with some chalkboard vinyl to make some fun chalkboard plant markers… {Read More…}

Aqua Painted Side Table
May 7, 2013 By Jessica 7 Comments

Not too long ago, I got the chance to try one of Maison Blanche’s new La Craie paint colors, Collette. I love the color itself, and am using it on several projects around my home, but for this painted side table, I wanted something quite a bit lighter. I decided to mix the Collette with some Magnolia (Maison Blanche’s version of white). I simply mixed 1 cup of Collette and 1/2 cup of Magnolia and mixed them together in a glass dish and this is the color I got this beautiful light aqua shade. The wonderful thing about the Maison {Read More…}
